Education for Ministry (EfM)
Would you like to…
- Share and grow your faith in a caring group setting?
- Engage with scripture more deeply than before?
- Learn more about church history and teaching?
- See the world through the lens of spiritual reflection?
- Discern what ways God may be asking you to serve?
… then join us for Education for Ministry!
Education for Ministry (EfM) is a unique four-year certificate program sponsored by Sewanee: The University of the South, an Episcopal School of Theology. EfM is being offered by Saint John’s Episcopal Church in Bangor, Maine. Each week participants meet in small groups, either in person or online, to study, to worship, and to engage in spiritual reflection. Weekly readings allow the participant to engage with scripture, learn about church history, and explore topics of theology relevant to modern times. EfM allows us to see the ways in which we, as lay persons, are being called to our own ministry in Christ’s Church. This program is open to all. We invite you to come join us!
We meet on Tuesdays at 6:30 pm. For more information, contact mentors Signa Strom and Scott Burgess.
