Benjamin Okafor, Vestry Member

As the last born in a family of eight, Ben was born into the Anglican family. His father (Mathias N. Okafor) was an Anglican catechist and his mother (Angelina O. Okafor) a school teacher.

Ben, graduated from the school of pharmacy, University of Jos, Nigeria with a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree. He subsequently relocated to London, United Kingdom, where he obtained his post graduate diploma in clinical pharmacy. He worked as a clinical pharmacist at Guys & St Thomas hospital London, United Kingdom.

In 2007, He was recruited by RiteAid pharmacy in Bangor Maine. Immediately upon arrival in Bangor, Ben joined and became a member of St John’s Episcopal Church where he has worshiped ever since.

Ben is married to Lovelyn Chioma Okafor and has three children. All Ben’s children (Obiajulu, Odinakachukwu and Omasirichi) were baptized and confirmed at St John’s Episcopal church.

Ben is the founder and CEO of Eastport Family Pharmacy and Machias family Pharmacy where he currently works. Ben and his family loves the congregation at St John’s Episcopal Church. They feel welcomed and part and parcel of the church family.
