David Conaway, Vestry Member

I was raised on the coast of Maine in Hancock County and now live and work in Bangor. I attend the University of Maine at Augusta, where I am pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.
I first came to St. John’s at the beginning of 2025 and was welcomed so completely and wholeheartedly that I immediately knew I had found a new spiritual home. The warmth, generosity, and authenticity of this community made it easy to keep coming back, and the people of St. John’s have truly become like family to me.
I arrived at St. John’s eager to volunteer, and that enthusiasm was warmly reciprocated. I have been grateful for the many opportunities to serve, including serving as a lector and chalice bearer, as well as helping to orchestrate the Second Saturday ministry, which provides a meal to members of the community in the church undercroft each month. I also value the opportunity to participate in our sidewalk ministry which helps serve those most vulnerable and in need.
The ministry opportunities at St. John’s have brought great richness to my life, and I am deeply grateful to be part of a parish that lives out its faith through worship, service, and hospitality. I am honored to serve my community in any capacity I can, and I am honored to be a member of St. John’s.
